An interesting race took place on Saturday between the captain's and sub-captain's teams from headquarters, Oarside Farm.
The two teams, consisting of 17 runners, had a short spin of four miles round Leasowe fields, after which they lined up at the end of Grove-road for the "break" home, the result of which was as follows :
Captain's Team. Sub-Captain's Team.
A. G. Nicholson 1 J. J. Eivers 3
H. Hanmer 2 E. S. Bale 4
G. H. Spence 6 C. E. Woodroffe 5
F. Bulmer 7 W. G. Lace 8
O. Parry 10 G. Low 9
W. S. Griffiths 11 V. Normanton 15
Total 37 Total 44
As will be seen, the captain's team won by a margin of seven points, although it was certainly not an easy victory, for had it not been for the good packing of their men between the 9th and 15th places it is more than probable that they would have been beaten. To day (Saturday) the club will receive a friendly visit from Liverpool Gymnasium Harriers at Oarside Farm. Those who wish to become members of the club are requested to communicate with the Hon. Sec., R. Young, 19, Devonshire-road, Liscard.
