On Saturday the above club visited Richmond Harriers at Fazakerley. Neither clubs were at full strength, the most notable absentees being Cowley, of Richmond, and Young, of Wallasey.
About 30 runners started out shortly after four o'clock, and a course of five miles, leading over some good cross-country, was traversed. The break took place some 1,600 yards from home, and ended in a decisive victory for Wallasey by 37 points. A good race was witnessed for the second place, Hanmer, Wilcox, and McCaughey being practically on top of each other, Nicholson, as a matter of course, being well ahead. Richmond are to be congratulated on the sportsmanlike manner in which they took their defeat, and Wallasey are eagerly looking forward to another pleasant encounter when next they meet at Oarside Farm, on which occasion it will most likely be a "run through.'' The following are the placings :-
