In the athletic world, this week-end, the big attraction are the A.A.A. championships at the White City. Following a lapse of seven years the Mecca of athletics will attract a large overseas invasion and once again the British athletes will have to look to their laurels.
Local interest will be centred around Trevor Holt, the Liverpool Pembroke N.C.A.A. title holder.
The I.C.I. sports, at Northwich, will be the attraction of the district. Local juniors did well last week at Birmingham, for in addition to Tindall's success, A. J. Topham-Steele, of Wirral A.C., also came away with a junior A.A.A. championship.
Congratulations to V. R. Tindall who has been chosen to represent the Northern Counties A.A. in the match against Ireland in August Monday. A rare distinction for a 17 year old.
