In this traditional race every runner receives a prize, and it doesn't matter how long he takes to cover the four and three-quarter miles' course! The slowest competitors are given the longest start and the first away will leave the line at 2:50 p.m. The scratch man will be the club captain and champion, John Edwards.
The Mayor, Alderman W. B. Millward and many other vice-presidents of the club will watch the race.
The course is as follows :- up Green Lane, Wallasey Village, towards the golf Course; left along Telegraph Lane to Leasowe Road; back down Leasowe Road, towards the Village; right down Cinder Lane towards the marshes. From thence a loop course round the marshes via Bidston footpath. Return the way they came via Cinder Lane up Leasowe Road, along Telegraph Lane, and back down Green Lane to the finishing line outside the club house.
Next week, the club are to be visited by Wirral Athletic Club.
