The Wallasey Athletic Club's cross-country, championship, the first since 1939, was decided last Saturday over a 4¾ miles course at Wallasey.
G. A. Walker was a worthy winner. He is Youths' captain of the club and has run well throughout the season. D. Kelly, who showed still further improvement, finished second after challenging Walker for most of the distance. A steady effort by A. Simpson brought him home third. R. Hubbard was placed fourth, after leading the field for one and a half miles.
