The Wallasey Athletic Club open their season's fixtures to-day when they travel to Woolton to run against Liverpool Harriers and Athletic Club, and the R.A.F. Kirkham.
A close race should ensue, Gallagher, the Liverpool 'star', will be running, and should give Liverpool a good send-off in the team race by finishing in the first position.
Training continues, however, in Wallasey, and anyone interested in running will be welcomed at the Green Lane H.Q. A trial run was held last Saturday over a 4½ miles' course from Green Lane. All members of Wallasey Athletic Club took part. Four packs started at four minute intervals.
G. Williams, of the first pack, was first home, followed by J. Byrne, of the third pack, with G. A. Walker third. One of the club's youngest runners and youths' captain, Walker, also went out with the third pack. Fastest of the second pack R. Hubbard, the fastest of the first pack to start out was Stanley Boddy.
