Bob Johnston (Wallasey A.C.) took second place in the West Lancashire Cross-Country junior championship race held at Moreton on Saturday. He finished behind W. A. Price (Liverpool Pembroke) who completed the five mile course in 27 minutes 36 secs.
The Mayor of Wallasey (Alderman J. H. Wensley) presented the prizes at the end of the afternoon.
Senior title was retained by Wirral A.C. and England runner, Johnny Green, who covered the seven mile course in the time of 39 minutes 29 seconds.
M. Rainford (Preston H.), won the youths three miles event in 14 minutes 26 seconds.
Team placings were: Senior - 1, Sutton Harriers (27 points); 2, Wirral A.C., (66 points); 3, Pembroke A.C. (102 points).
Junior - 1, Sutton Harriers (35 Points); 2, Boundary H. (56 points); 3, Pembroke (62 points).
Youths' three miles. - 1, Boundary H. (38 points); 2, Pembroke (41 points); L.H.A.C. (43 points).
