Introduction

Welcome to Wallasey AC

This friendly club, with a real family atmosphere, is always keen to welcome new faces and caters for all abilities. There is always someone for you to run with and help and advice is available. If you are interested in joining us, why not pop down for a chat and join us in one of our training sessions, there is no obligation to join straight away. Our runners are of a wide range of abilities and ages and we currently have about 100 members.

Club Races

We participate in the Borders League, Liverpool and District Cross-Country Union, the Wirral Multi Terrain Series and County, Northern and National Cross-Country and Road Relays.

Club Nights

Training

Evening Sessions

Training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday at St. Nicholas Hall (formerly Harrison Hall) in Wallasey Village. Sessions muster at 18:20 for 18:30-40 start.

Tuesday

Tuesday night's sessions are dedicated to Fartlek, Pyramid, Interval and Hill training.

Thursday

Thursday night's sessions are a more social event with general conditioning or a steady tempo road run of about 6 miles.

Len Platt Tribute

15/01/1927 - 15/10/2025

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Len Platt who passed away on 15th October.

Len represented Wallasey AC on many occasions and was a great sportsman and an outstanding athlete who excelled at sprinting, long jump and triple jump.

Len also represented England on several occasions and was Northern area and county champion and represented Cheshire at inter-county races.

Len's long jump record of 23' 6" (7.16m) has stood as a club record for 63 years. He also won the Blair trophy in 1953, a cup awarded for the best performance by any athlete in Merseyside.

Len was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather and our condolences go to his family and friends.
