Last Saturday saw the annual Waterloo Road Race being run over 6¾ miles of Waterloo roads. The inhabitants of Waterloo must have been surprised at seeing about two hundred runners in gaily coloured vests racing past their houses.

The club-run held last Saturday meant that for the first time in several weeks the club had no fixtures or races. A most encouraging and unusual feature emerged from this run, this being that for the first time so far this season more seniors turned out to run than did youths.

Last Saturday the club had their postponed cyclo cross fixture against the Wallasey Cyclists. The race was won for the second year in succession by cyclist Johnny Fryer. He just beat Ron Barlow by a few feet in a thrilling finish.
