Wallasey Athletic Club men's section failed to follow the example of the girls being disappointing in the men's Northern Championship at Gateshead.
Bob Brimage was the exception. He ran extremely well over the tough six-mile course to finish 18th in the junior men's race. Bob has shown hints of his good form all season but now appears to be hitting top form when it matters and he should be very high in the National Championships in March.
In the senior race Dave Lockley, and in the youth's, Gwyn Griffiths, both failed to reach anything approaching their normal form.
Today there is no competition and members are reminded that there will be training from the club-house as usual in the afternoon.
