Len H. Platt, of Wallasey Athletic Club, is among the thirty-eight athletes chosen to represent Britain in the inter'national matches against Germany, in Berlin, on August 29 and 30, and Sweden, in Stockholm on September 2 and 3.
Platt is the first holder of the Blair trophy awarded for the best performance by any athlete in the Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales area. He won the Northern Counties Championship with a 23 ft. 6 in. long jump and on the same day, took the hop, step and jump title, the inter-counties long jump, and hop, step and jump, in addition to giving two fine performances in international events.
