Wallasey A.C. championships were continued at Leasowe Road last Monday evening when Len Platt won the senior 100 yards sprint in ten seconds dead.
This is the first time Len has done "evens'' and lie won comfortably from John Prydderch and Ray Owen.
A final reflection on Platt's omission from the British Olympic team is that in the Olympic finals at Helsinki only four of the world's long jumpers exceeded Len's leap of 23ft. 6ins in the Northern Counties championship last June.
The championships continue on Thursday next with the senior mile, junior half mile, and the Youths' high jump.
