In the Festival of Sport road relay race on the promenade at Egremont on Saturday, Ron Barlow, former Wallasey and international athlete hands over the baton to his teammate.
Two well known "Ernies" watching are Mr Ernest Warrington (extreme left), the Corporation Entertainments Department Manager who has just received the OBE, and Mr. Ernest Marples, MP for Wallasey who has attended a number of the Festival events.
