At the recent annual general meeting of Wallasey Athletic Club, two new vice-presidents were elected in recognition of their services to athletics generally and to the club in particular. They are John Edwards, Liverpool & District Senior Cross-Country Champion, 1946, and club captain since 1940; and W. Brookes, for 28 years an active member of the club.
The cross-country running season has now begun, and runs take place every Saturday afternoon from Club headquarters in Leasowe Load (50 yards past the railway bridge) commencing at 3 p.m., as well as on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7 p.m. New members are invited to attend any of these runs when they will be warmly welcomed.
