Penny Price's Big Day at Olympiad



Another outstanding success has been achieved by the eighteen-year-old Wallasey girl athlete, Miss Penny Price, Cheshire schoolgirl champion, who won the senior hurdles, the high jump, 100 yards and open invitation sprint at the Festival of Youth Olympiad at Leasowe on Saturday.

Miss Price, who is a pupil of Maris Stella Convent, is the daughter of Commander L. D. Price, Wallasey Ferries general manager. She will be at Southampton this Saturday to represent Cheshire in the All-England Inter-County schools sports.

Doubles were also recorded by B. W. G. Bird (Wallasey G.S.) and G. Porter (Wallasey Sea Scouts) and T. N. Calvey, J. S. Bell and R. Fisk (Birkenhead School), and D. J. Anderson.

Wallasey G.S. won the Festival of Britain medley relay trophy and Upton Road Y.C. the W. J. Armstrong girls' relay trophy.
