Wallasey Athletic Club members Mal Hardcastle and Ken Westall competed in two races on consecutive days under African skies recently.
Both races, the Sahara 5k and the Tunisian 10k, boasted a top field, including former European marathon champ, Ron Hill.
British cross-country international Paul Wheeler was victorious in both races, with Ken finishing 13th. over 5k and 14th in Tunisia. Mal finished 21st and 17th respectively.
Both runners are now looking toward to the finishing stage of the domestic cross-country season.
Anyone interested in racing or training a little closer to home is welcome at Wallasey RUFC on Monday evening.
