Len Platt of W.A.C., Northern Counties A.A.A. and Cheshire county hop, step and jump champion has been placed joint seventh in his event in the unofficial ranking list of British athletes for 1951.
He is also Cheshire county long jump champion and has twice been runner up in the Northern counties long jump championships.
He has represented the Northern Counties A.A.A. on several occasions and entered the international field by competing in the long jump event against the American team in Liverpool last August when he was placed second.
His best hop, step and jump was one of 45 feet 8½ inches which had it been acceptable to the compilers of the list would have placed him sixth.
