Fifty Wallasey were amongst the 401 finishers at the fourth Borders League race at Capenhurst. The course was an accurately measured five miles and the weather on the day was fine. The large turn out from the club meant that both teams faired well. The ladies finished in third place and lie third overall. Chloe Nicholson, making her debut, was first back in seventeenth place and was assisted by Becky Blacklock (20th), Vicky McConnell (33rd), Anna Kenny (35th), Elaine Opara (44th) and another debutant Allison Brown (50th). The men needed a good result as they lay in the relegation zone and they got one with a fourth place finish. Olly Chadwick led the men home in eighth place and Jack Poland made a welcome return in 23rd. Other counters were George Gillies (37th), Mark Wynne (42nd), Louis Gorman (46th), Steven Leslie (50th), Connor McArdle (58th), Alan Kennedy (62nd), Rob Pearse (75th) and Scott Eves (85th). The race was used for the Les Pullin trophy for the best age graded performance.
