The National Cross Country Championships in Nonsuch Park, Cheam took place in testing conditions with freezing rain and mud. The senior team finished in 151st place with Mike Garbutt (866th), John Cottrell (957th), Bob Brimage (1080th), Dave Walton (1122nd), M Davies (1471st) and M Hardcastle (1511th) counting on the nine mile course. Phil Cuthbert finished in 105th and Paul Johnson 318th in the youth's race.
