The Merseyside Cross-Country Championships took place at Sherdley Park on a mild day. The 7 mile course did not contain many muddy sections and included one small and three large laps. The men finished eighth on the day and were led home by George Gillies in 23rd position. Other counters were Rob Pearse (41st), Paul Griffiths (47th), Chris Bowers (50th), Tony Barbat (67th) and Sean Sales (70th).
