6 brave triathletes from Wallasey A.C. flew to Switzerland to compete in the Zurich Ironman. Phil Walton was first home in an excellent time of one tick over 12 hours. Not far behind him was John Thelwell in 12 hours 10 minutes. Claire Walton had a storming race completing the three disciplines in 12 hours 27 minutes and finished 13th in her age category. Dave Walton and Phil Cuthbert suffered from injury on the run but can be extremely proud to have finished in difficult circumstances. The event which included a 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike ride and then a full marathon. Paul Thelwell also did well coming home in 13 hours 34 minutes 40 seconds. An immense effort by all athletes.
