Over 280 runners entered the 50km (31miles) 9bar London ULTRA. In perfect running conditions (9°), the field set off from Streatham Common on the Capital Ring trail that circumnavigates the Capital using a network of footpaths, parks and canals. The finish was at Wembley and the race is the nation's largest ULTRAmarathon. Claire Walton was first lady in 4:34:51 and according to the official website she 'finished comfortably and looks to be a name to watch in future running events in the UK.'. A truly fantastic result for Claire and another great win for her. This was only Nick Holt's 2nd outing for a race of marathon distance or over, having run just the Loch Ness marathon prior to this event, a top third finish is definitely worthy of note. Not to mention the fact that after a slight error in navigation Nick actually ran 32.5 instead of the required 31 miles!
