Ubaye Trail Marathon - Barcelonnette, France
Open Races
Day - Sunday
Date - 07/08/2016
Distance - 26 Miles

Jez Fellick headed to Barcelonnette in the south of France for the Ubaye trail marathon. Jez said "First race as V50 and probably best one yet. This was taken at the top and pretty much all down hill for next 10 miles. Worse case of jelly legs ever!!", Jez finished 29th and was second in his category as he crossed the line in 04:45. Described as a marathon in the mountains. Over 40% of the course was between 2000 and 2682 m above sea level with varied surfaces, fast sections, sharp climbs and technical descents, forests, alpine meadows, rocky passages where you will have to "trudge" with hands and feet, amidst beautiful mountain peaks and scenery. The challenging course crossed four mountain passes.
