The Warrington Way Ultra Marathon is a 40 mile trail race that started and finished in the lovely Cheshire village of Lymm, about 5 miles east of Warrington. Runners followed a route which is mostly on tracks, footpaths, field crossings and country lanes to circumnavigate the town of Warrington in anticlockwise direction. The route was way marked with tape, though runners had to carry maps and be able to navigate. Lymm Runners supplied a hot meal at the finish for all runners, and finishers also got the coveted Warrington Way technical T-shirt and medal. John Bassett completed the course in 07:42 for 43rd place.
