The Southport Half Marathon started in Victoria Park and headed into town and along the Lord Street, past the Monument, War Memorial and Town Hall and headed North for a quick trip around Hesketh Park, passed the Golf Club and returned to the coast before heading south towards the Marine Lake. 13 runners from the club took part with Ian Cannings being the first to return in 01:27:45 for 71st place.
