The Darwen Heritage Half Marathon started in Darwen and took in some steep hills on the way to Chapeltown and back. Some fine views of Pendle Hill and Longridge Fell could be seen from the course which included 1375ft of climbs. John Bassett made the trip to Lancashire and came home in 68th position in 01:44.
