On the weekend of 23 & 24 July the Conti Thunder Run was a 24 hour off-road challenge set in the grounds of Catton Park, Walton-on-Trent. This relay race was run against the clock with the team completing the most number of 10k laps being declared the winners. Wallasey AC had teams in the mixed 6-8 category, mixed pairs and solo female. Figures bekow are for number of laps and fastest individual lap.

Cirque de sore legs team finished 14th with 26 complete lap and consisted of Rob Pearse (4 39:08), Ryan Greenwood (4 40:06), Tony Barbat (3 49:08), Julie Barbat (3 1:02:11), Stewart Foster (4 1:01:23) plus one accompanying Sue, Dermot Ferguson (3 1:14:25) and Michael Robson (5 46:42).

The Sloth Runners finished 43rd with 23 complete laps and were made up of Michele Alty (3 54:04), Alison Macdonald (3 58:06), Steve Cole (3 55:31), Katherine Andrews (3 1:07:57), Dominic Warren (3 52:51), Ben McGee (3 43:55), Sue Foster (2 1:52:48) and Steve Clarke (3 56:36).

Vicky Kehoe as Soul Survivor finished 41st and an amazing 7 laps (54:16).

Tim Plested (4) and Alison Engle (4) were seventeenth as Happy Eagle Days.

Martin Connell's (4 59:57) team Zero Fox Given were 86th and completed 19 laps and Sue Whittle ran a lap as a solo runner.
