The Yorkshire Marathon Festival was launched by Run For All in 2013. The marathon followed a route through the city centre, passing the Walls, Stockton on the Forest, Grange Wood, Upper Helmsley, Stamford Bridge, Gate Helmsley, Turkers Wood, Murton, Osbaldwick and back towards Heslington. John Armstrong made the trip up to York and finished in a creditable 3:28.
