Runners started the M2L Ultra Race beside the Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United Football Club, the race followed the Trans-Pennine Trail, the Manchester Ship Canal and the River Mersey from Manchester to Liverpool. Neil Toner was first to complete the gruelling race in 7:36 for 12th place and an M45 age category win, Steve Cosgrove and Alex Yem finished in 8:21. Neil said "M2L Ultra completed. Buzzing with that and finished 12th overall. Not going to lie it hurt at times but I was ready for that. Thank you all for your continuous support and my number one supporter my daughter Jessica who was at various parts of the course with supplies. I had doubts but this time I redeemed myself ."
