The Snowdonia Marathon started from just outside Llanberis. The route followed the A4086 and climbed to the top of the Llanberis Pass (Pen y Pass 1.100ft). Dropping down to the Pen Y Cwyryd junction, the race then followed the old road along to the A498. This 2km section was farm track, downhill, then the surface returned to the tarmac. The route then continued to the Beddgelert (200ft) and then along the A4085 to Waunfawr. From here it was a rapid climb to about 1,200ft at Bwlch y Groes and then downhill to the finish in Llanberis. Phil (4:00:19) said he loved the course today but was broken at 22 miles." and Sandra (6:53:53) said "Snowdonia Marathon Eryri 2023 was amazing, beautiful views and the friendliest race I've ever done.
